And you will never like him because you will always see him as just that no matter what he does or becomes.

You didn't like him before the draft, during the draft or after the draft because Miami didn't make a play for your boy RG 3.

Look at the other rookie QB's and tell me which one has worse talent at WR and TE than Tanny. NONE

Not to mention only Luck and Tanny are on a team going through year 1 of a scheme change so they can't even lean on experience vets to help them out when things get tough.

Ease up on Tanny and see where our real issues are.

I'm just being consistent. I've been the one who has always said give rookies 3 years to develop and I've been ripped by everyone on the board for saying that. But now for some reason good old Tanny boy gets a mulligan whenever he screws up. No I agree with you guys now. You can either play or you can't. No honeymoon, no grace period, nada. Tanny sucks.

Actually if you go by passer rating he DOES suck right now.

I'm not throwing in the towel and saying he'll never get any better but at some point he needs to do *something* to be a reason why this team wins instead of why it loses.

But as you say, the bizarre decision to keep running Thomas instead of Miller is inexcusable and unacceptable.

Tanny is at the very bottom and I would be okay with that if he would use his athletic ability to move the chains every now and then but it's starting to look like Tanny Boy's athleticism will be used about as much as Rob Konrad's legendary receiving skills were. But the fact is he is the consolation prize and always will be. He was no one on this boards first choice. For those who think this is "crazy" and a "knee jerk reaction" there's always the Aqua board.

On that Bess pass he was scrambling for his life. The fact that he even completed that was pretty amazing.

I thought and still think Tanny was trying to throw it away. So did the announcers at the time.

I have been one of the biggest Tannehill supporters here, but when you're right, you're right. And it's not just yesterday, either. Tannehill has been nothing but mediocre and worse this season so far. Sure, he's a rookie...but I don't see the progress I was hoping for. He's done some good things in each game, but overall he's been a major disappointment to me.

No reason to panic yet, but I really need to see a lot more from Tannehill before I anoint him as the answer to our problems.

So far he looks exactly like all the other "game managers" who were invisible in wins and threw devastating INTs in losses, only less accurate.

I know I know, growing pains, etc. But a quarter of the season's about to be over with and his passer rating is abysmal even by rookie QB standards.

If Wilson kills it tonight I'll be even more antsy.

Tannehill actually looks very good for the situation. He makes a lot of very good decisions. Remember, he's on a shitty team. Yesterday he had his one big-play threat taken away from him.

I don't think any QB could come in here and perform with this group. Also, if you all haven't noticed, we're nearly exclusively a running team now.

I think he's shown a lot for a rookie on a terrible team.

Also, Tannehill had us in position to win the game yesterday. He'd be 2-1 as a starter today if one of those kicks were made. I think you're expecting far too much from him early. Hell, most of you didn't want him to play at all this season. Let him keep growing into the position.

EDIT: Eli Manning went through all these same attitudes in his first year. He's doing pretty good now. Give this some time.

Sure, the Phins are a shitty team. But the Colts, Redskins and Seahawks aren't exactly powerhouses, and their rookie QBs are performing better than Tannehill. And keep in mind Tannehill is the only one of those guys that went to a team running the same exact offense he ran in college, with his college coach.

Luck's QBR is 75.4 and he has 5 TDs and 846 yards.

RGIII's QBR is 103.5 and he has 4 TDs and 747 yards.

Wilson has an 81.1 QBR and 2 TDs after 2 games.

Hell, even Weeden - on a winless team - has 3 TDs, 677 yards and a 60.7 QBR.

Tannehill has 1 TD, 615 yards and a completion % under 53 to go along with his 58.3 QBR. After 3 games, that's not just bad...it's awful.

Now, I'm no fan of QBR (see Moore, Matt in 2011 to see how meaningful it is...)...but when you have the worst QBR in the league, that's not a good thing.

By no means am I giving up on Tannehill - far from it. But he's going to have to start showing a helluva lot more than he has so far just to get to 'mediocre'.

Wilson just threw a bee-yootiful deep bomb for a TD--after using his legs to get a key first down on 3rd and long.

Is Tannehill even capable of doing either of those things? Because we haven't seen it yet.

Just sayin'.

I would take the WRs on any of those team over ours, JMP. We've got no playmaking WRs at all. It changes the game immeasurably. Tannehill has to improve, but I don't see what he's go to work with that will help him do so.

Since I used Eli Manning as a comparison, his first three games in the NFL with a terrible Giants team were abysmal as well. The ratings were 45.1 against the Falcons, 16.9 against the Eagles and 60.9 against the Redskins. His next game was a 0.0 against Baltimore. Having a shit team around you definitely makes a difference.

EDIT: Tannehill's first three games have been 39.0, 91.0 and 50.2.
