We hear Jordan Zimmerman, CEO of Zimmerman Advertising (one of the nation’s largest ad agencies), has expressed interest in buying the Dolphins, but Stephen Ross has declined overtures. Zimmerman, who owns a piece of the Florida Panthers, and Ross have had serious discussions the past two years but none recently. Zimmerman declined to comment.

Serious discussions the past 2 years?!?! While I wouldn’t mind seeing Ross sell the team – this also indicates that Ross doesn’t view his involvement in the Phins as a long term investment if he’s willing to sell the team (I’m sure for a tidy profit) this quickly. My only concern is that when the owner has short term thinking, it usually flows down into the entire organization. I guess this would explain why so many of his comments and actions have concerned big splash, flash-in-the-pan, make quick money (Tebow day and Jets gear in the team store) even if it conflicts with your own team type deals.

I would hate to see new ownership just as we are showing promise as a team. That could screw up the Philbin plan, don't you think?

I think Ross is completely at a loss as to how a football team should be run. He is relying on others and getting some bad advice IMHO.

All the celebrity crapola is for the nitwits that eat that stuff with a spoon.

I am sure Ross would sell for a hefty profit, but Zimmerman is trying to keep it from being TOO HEFTY I am thinking. And after the way ROss has dragged the franchise's name through the mud, there should be some discount IMHO.

Would love to see this franchise have some stability for once.

Funny how a three and three record, a QB and a Coaching Staff can change people's opinion of ross. How many here, myself included, said the team would never win until ross sells the team? People could not get him on the red carpet out of town fast enough.

NOW we are calling for "stability".

I'm not against stability, just pointing out the inconsistency.

With good coaching in position, sell the team back to Wayne.

I didn't say I was against Ross selling, just that I'd love to see the Miami franchise get some stability.

For decades we had the same owner, head coach, and limited change at the QB position. That equaled winning.

We've had more QBs, head coaches, and now possibly owners than most other teams in the NFL.

Can we just make the team public like the Packers?!

Fine with me if Ross sells the team. I think the franchise will be better for it.

I only care about stability if it's the right stability. If you're losing for three consecutive years, that's not 'good stability'. Hell, make major changes every year until we get it right - I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is continuing to stick with things that aren't working.

Agreed, the right stability is what is truly important.
