as well as Ross getting serious about actually making the team better and winning games as opposed to whatever the hell his priorities are right now. And to be fair he seems to be taking steps towards that, but he still needs to do more.

For example?

Well, he has... and he also..., don't forget about......

Just WHAT has he done to make the team better?

He was adamant that a QB be taken with the first pick last year and is adamant that a WR be taken with the first pick this time. He's starting to get it.

He also did away with the whole orange carpet thing. Sure, he never should've had it to begin with but baby steps and all that.

:offtopic: Let's keep the thread CLOSELY related to Sean Smith and not about what Ross is or isn't doing for the team. Thanks.

I'd say 3 year 22 million with some incentives. Since incentives would be INT then we would be safe.

Trying to stay positive but if we lose another starter on this team it just creates another hole that needs to be filled. Which is hard to do.

Why is it a bad thing to lose a player that really isn't very good? I look at losing an overpaid mediocre starter as a good thing. That gives the Phins an opportunity to upgrade, and that's what this offseason should be all about.

I'll sum up my thoughts and stay on topic.

Sean Smith is a loser. He can go be shitty somewhere else for too much money. Free up more cap space, blow this sucker up. I'll take another 1-15 season for a decade of dominance.

Another 1-15 season for a decade of dominance? I'm waiting for the first decade to start since the last 1-15 season.

I wouldn't pay Smith much to stay. I think Long can read the papers and will try to stay here for less. I think Hartline can read the writing on the wall too. We may have more holes to fill if these guys leave, but aren't they holes already?

Exactly. That's been my point all along. With all the draft picks and cap space, we have a rare opportunity to get significantly better at several positions. Let's not waste that opportunity by spending big money on players that we already know can't get the job done.
