I know, I know, I previously predicted a losing season. But looking at the schedule and after what I've seen in the games... maybe a winning season is possible after all.

http://finnation.com/dream-big-could-mi ... -playoffs/

Rams are not as good as their record suggests.
Jests and Jills are falling apart.
Titans look horrible.
Gabbert is getting scared again.
Seahawks and Colts, like us, have their ups and downs.
Only the Patriots and Niners scare me.

10-6 is possible. Shoot, it's possibly realistic.

Colts, Bengals, Steelers, and Broncos are the other teams in the case at this point. Bengals and Steelers play in the same, brutal division.
Broncos still get Chargers x2, Saints, Bengals, Bucs, and Ravens.
Indy still has games against Pats, Lions, and Houston x2.

You know what, our game against the Colts could decide which one has a chance...

Happy ans surprised if we do, notupset if we don't. I like the direction this team is moving and with Brady getting old and the Jets imploding, I am smelling future success. God Bless Joe Philbin.

Amen!

I agree with you, I won't be upset if Miami has a losing season - it is what I expected.

They're playing *way* better than I expected before training camp and especially after the preseason.

I think mistakes will likely be their undoing in the short term, although they seem to work hard on correcting mistakes and, most significantly, not repeating them.

Here's something I loved from yesterday's game:

7 minute mark in 3rd quarter, Miami is winning 17 to 6. In years past Miami would go into "prevent offense" mode and simply try to grind it out, take time off of the clock, and play the battle of field position to hold on to the win.

Not Philbin's Dolphins, who put the pedal to metal throwing and kept trying to score. Bush ran the ball on the first play of the drive, then Tannehill threw it 5 times, once for a 30 yard gain and first down when it was 3rd and 4: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/201210070 ... 0000078271

That's the most important thing. Most all the experts agree they can see this team getting better as the season wears on. Most of that I'm sure will be due to whether or not Tannehill continues to improve. If the rest of the team.. Tannehill included can stop the bone headed turnovers. I truly think we could win enough games and get hot at the right time. Our division is tight. And I can see New England losing 2 more before the year ends. And with the other divisions the way we are. A wild card COULD be in our future.. assuming all the starts allign. OR we could be put in a situation where we control our own destiny in the division. If we beat New England.. could be the division. And lets face it. Teams cannot run on us. We HAVE to figure out a way to generate more pressure. Though I think we have been improving in this area. We are going to need to rattle Brady the WHOLE game in order to have a chance at beating them. But, we know from experience.. good pass rush and a good passing game is what wins Super Bowls. I hope our passing game continues to improve. I hope that Gaffney becomes a big contributor that way.

I think 9-7 will secure the final wild card spot so yeah it's doable.

What's with the Sparano imitation? :poke:

I'm just going to roll with it and whatever happens, happens.

I was looking at the schedule the other day and was thinking the same thing, this could be a surprise season for the Fins with a playoff push. With that said I figure they'll lose a comple games that they should win but like rest of you I like the direction the Fins seem to be going at this time.

With all the injuries in Pittsburgh I'm getting more confident Miami has a chance. I'm think Denver or San Diego will easily get the first wild card spot. But who is our big competition for the second wild card ? I just don't see anybody.
