In all 4 cases their agent has a say, and in all 4 cases I don't see Miami offering a deal that blows them away to the point that they forgo testing free agency.

Starks is 28 and making $3.25 mil in the final year of his deal. He's likely looking at the last big contract that he'll sign.

With the changes in team philosophy that Philbin is bringing we will hopefully start to see players sign good deals but leave some money on the table to stay in Miami. I don't know if we're far enough along in the process to see Starks do that though... so my bet is that unless Miami throws great money at him his agent will want to test free agency.

The market on running backs shows the value just isn't there. Unless Philbin *really* wants Bush as a leader, I expect Ireland to let Bush test the market. Miami drafted Miller as a successor, and the Green Bay model just doesn't place a lot of value in spending big on RBs.

Smith is the interesting one. You can never have too many good corners, and Smith is merely the best of mediocre bunch. He came to camp in shape and is really pushing himself. I suspect he's a favorite of the coaches, but Miami isn't going to break the bank on him.

Hartline showed some great resiliency contributing so quickly despite the offseason ailments. The chemistry with Tannehill probably makes him the highest priority of the bunch.

Extending the guys who produce sends a very strong message to the locker room: production is rewarded. I just have my doubts that many will happen during the season.

Starks and Smith are the MUST keeps IMO. If Hartline or Bush wants too much. Let them walk. Jake too.

We have the to keep the interior of this line around at least another 3 years.

Just so you know, Brian Hartline currently leads the NFL in receiving yards....not so sure I'd let him walk when we already need help at the WR position. I wouldn't break the bank for him, but I'd certainly try to get him back for several more years...

Smith and Hartline *have* to stay, for the simple fact a team these days can never have enough decent WRs and CBs.

I'd *like* Starks to stay but if he doesn't it won't cripple the team and creat a hole as huge as if Smith/Hartline left.

Bush is expendable. Love his work ethic but already he's banged up and won't last the season IMO. And I'm saying this with him on my FF team starting every week.

Bush will be pretty easy. No one will offer him a truckload of money. They'll offer him something a little better than the Sproles contract. Starks will double his salary and that's doable. Smith will command crazy money; we should pay it or franchise him for a trade. I fully expect us to draft a CB in the first round whether we sign him or not. Hartline will be hard to value properly. I say pay the man.
