I'm telling you right now. Starks is infinitely more valuable then Hartline. Hartline is my boy and all.. But you wanna know how you know Tannehill is going to be good? He is making hartline look better then what he is. And YES I'm the one who wrote that Hartline could be our Jordy Nelson. But the Qb makes the WR more often then the other way around. Starks and Wake are our 2 best defensive players. Followed by Sean smith. Soliai. Then reshad jones. And I got news for you.. It was probably the same way before the year started. And it's just cemented now. Starks will finally get the recognition he deserves.
Jeff Ireland is that you? In today's NFL CB's and WR's are a much higher priority than DT's. There will be at least 3 DT's drafted in the first round next year who are better than Starks and will command 1/3 the salary.
Since right now Randy Starks is the best DT in the league. I highly doubt that. We need to keep the interior of our D-line locked up. I like the depth we have there. However, I think if we get Starks contract done sooner rather then later we may be able to avoid having to pay him at a premium.
Oh and BTW I said to that we need to re-sign Sean Smith as well. Hartline is doing very well. However, unless he takes a hometown discount. I don't think we should re-sign the guy. Lets face it. It's unlikely he will finish in the top 5 WR's this year. I think the system and Tannehill are making him look a bit better then what he is.
